Puyallup Fair, Sept 7-23, 2012

OUR HOT TUB BLOG

We’ll be the first to admit that the Puyallup Fair isn’t exactly perfect. But then again, who really needs it to be perfect? As long as it continues to be fun, we will keep coming!

Black Pine Spas has been coming to the Puyallup for a number of years, and we will admit it. We weren’t sure how to pronounce it either. Poo All Up? Pew Yall Yup? Pu Lall Yup? Yep, we tongue wrestled our way through quite a few of them in our time. The Boss says that we will get the hang of it after we eat a couple more plates of fried, ahhh,  Jee Oh Duck, um, Gooey Duck, oh, Geoduck!

Well, we like fried clams, we like the fair, and we always seem to have a good time when ever we get a chance at either of them.

One thing we do have to say for the Puyallup, it is never boring! The annual event is billed as the Northwest’s biggest Entertainment Tradition, and this year’s offering should live up to that! The Headline Entertainment is always a good way to judge how serious a fair is going to be.

Opening the Fair with Willie Nelson is a very good sign! Following that up will be Craig Morgan. Both shows are coordinated with the Puyallup Pro Rodeo. Other terrific acts on the main stage will be Pitbull, Big Time Rush, Train, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, The Doobie Brothers, local girls Ann and Nancy Wilson with Heart, and comedian Jeff Foxworthy (we still might be Rednecks…)

The Puyallup Rodeo has one of the largest purses in the Pacific Northwest, and brings in stock from the Growney Brothers, Korkow Rodeos, Big Bend and Flying Five Rodeos, and several other ranches. This year Grated Coconut and Moulin Rouge, the #1 and #3 bareback horses of the year, will be at the Rodeo.

The local kids will have their animals at the Fair as well. The 4H and FFA animal displays are always popular. (It is always interesting for non-farm people to try and figure out why one bunny wins the Blue Ribbon and not the other one. And who know that chickens had such interesting feathers before they get turned into Nuggets.)

There will be a Fair Farm for a more up close and personal experience with the cute animals, and an Animals of the World display with more exotic fare. Don’t forget the new piglets between the livestock and dairy barns!

Some less smelly options are available at the Art and Cultural Exhibits. The Hobby Hall is filled with interesting arts and crafts, and there are some down right delicious smells at the Home Arts competitions. You can find pleasant but less fattening smells at the Agricultural and Floral displays.

Black Pine Spas has always enjoyed our association with the Puyallup Fair. Our staff will be on hand to show off the latest in Hot Tubs, Swim Spas, and Saunas. The Fair is always a good chance to visit with some old friends and meet some new ones!

Be sure to stop by the Black Pine booth. We promise to have one or two hot tubs filled up and operating, but unfortunately we can’t let everyone take a test-soak after a long day of walking around the Fair!
