Now the third largest festival in Washington State, A Taste Of Edmonds is celebrating its Thirtieth year. The Taste started as a way for local restaurants to show off the fun and unique items from their menus, and for visitors to have the chance to get to know Edmonds. The festival has grown a great deal since August, 1983, but two things remain the same; it is all about fun, and the food is still great!
A Taste Of Edmonds now attracts more than a 100,000 visitors, features carnival rides, four stages for non-stop entertainment, terrific beer and wine gardens, arts and crafts displays, and more than forty food vendors!
It would be great to say that Black Pine Spas has been a part of A Taste Of Edmonds since the very beginning, after all, the event has been going on nearly as long as we’ve had our store in nearby Lynnwood. We opened in 1981, and our families have always enjoyed taking the short trip to Edmonds for the food and fun every summer.
Black Pine’s direct involvement with the Taste began in 2004. For us, the Taste is a great chance to keep in touch with some old friends and to make new ones. Our display at the Taste is always in the same spot, so we are easy to find. Best of all, we are conveniently close to the Beer Garden!
We will bring a dozen or more hot tubs from our nearby shop for everyone to see, and our friendly staff will be on hand to explain all about the newest features in the home spa world. We will have at least one of the spas filled with water and operating.
The best way for people to learn about hot tubs is to see one working. Of course, this means that our friendly staff has the added job of keeping our overly enthusiastic friends from the Beer Garden from taking an unauthorized dip in the working hot tub! A Taste Of Edmonds is still a family event, after all, and Black pine is a family company!
Why is it so important for us to have our booth so close to the Beer Garden then? We told the boss that it is so that we are easy for our friends to find us. The real reason is so that we are close enough to the Beer Garden Stage to enjoy the show without worrying about our Friendly Staff wandering off.
For 2012, the Beer Garden Stage will feature Steel Drums, Country and Western, Tijuana Style Brass, Country Rock, Tributes to Van Halen, Lynard Skynard and Jimi Hendrix, and great Rock from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and today!
